It was a tough choice between this song and the one about, well, you’ll see on Monday late afternoon. I went with this one because of the uncanny little musical and vocal bon mots. It’s really getting to be fun doing this, but it takes a lot of attention to detail. Paying attention and not paying attention can make or break a song. Anyway, give a listen;
Lyrics=
Outside!!! Outside!!!
Oh, what a perfect curling ride
It's a temporary thing
seeming to be timeless
as it falls into itself
Like that special memory
deep beneath the shelf
that makes the waveforms possible
until it goes and hits the glide
to bring it rolling... back... outside...
again.
To bring it rolling... back... outside...
again.
Outside!!! Outside!!!
It's one gnarly rip from the tongue to the lip
It's a cleft in the valley of the shadow of the break
It's a gator roll tumbler with a zipper rip fumbler
That slides in its wake through the fangs of the snake
Outside!!! Downside, and Inside out!
I'm hanging twenty on the roof of a Bentley
That I shaped with a diamond-cutter dream I had,
of a wind that circles, while I wait for the curls
and I am watching all the slim...waisted... girls
They dance like emerald water in the beach shack mind
all honey golden brown like the Gods were getting down
It's perfect for those moments when the daylight goes away
for the games of slinky motion that the darkness likes to play
All my words are overkill for what cannot be said
It's like moonlight on the water when the smarter sharks are fed
Now they're getting kinda sleepy, though you know they never sleep
So... don't be floating on your back like little... Bo... Peep.
I was on my board this morning at the breaking crack of noon
My wetsuit was in tatters cause I hit the rocks too soon
I was humming that old sailor song that Mozart used to sing
back when he was dropping acid and having talent was a thing
Outside!!! Downside, and Inside out!
I'm hanging twenty on the roof of a Bentley
That I shaped with a diamond-cutter dream I had
Of a wind that circles while I wait for the curls
and I am watching all the slim...waisted... girls
Outside!!!
That I shaped with a diamond-cutter dream I had
Of a wind that circles while I wait for the curls
and I am watching all the slim...waisted... girls
You know I'm really not a surfer
But I look so freaking good
when I'm standing with my board
At that club on Hollywood
I'm banging with my Ray-Bans
And my parents pay the bills
Will I be doing this at forty?
that gives me freezer chills
Now I'm looking in the mirror
and this Botox really kills.
If I am being honest...
This Botox really kills.
It does... it does...
it really... really... kills
